Schengen visa for a stay of up to 90 days
Important notice
The Embassy outsources the submission of short-stay visa applications (up to 90 days, Schengen visa C) and the return of passports in sealed envelopes to its external partner, VFS Global Algeria. The review of visa applications and the decision to grant or refuse a visa remain the competence of the Embassy.
The mandate of VFS has been renewed for a new period starting on 1 July 2025. Some changes have been introduced, particularly regarding the service fees and the requirement to complete the visa application form online via the VFS website before booking an appointment.
The processing of applications by the Embassy still takes up to 15 days from the date of receipt. Appointments with VFS Global Algeria should be made well in advance (it is possible to schedule an appointment up to 6 months before the intended travel date).
If no appointment is available, you can make use of a waiting list feature introduced on 18 August 2025. People on this waiting list will be automatically informed when new appointments become available and asked to book an appointment. This option is available to people who have a credit or debit card and can pay the service fee online (at the time of booking the appointment, not when joining the waiting list).
